The True Believer

The Make-Believer

The Unbeliever

The true believer is a person who believes the Word of God as it is written and acts according to it. He believes the Word of God is as much for today as the day it was written. And is as applicable for himself today as during the time God’s Word was written and spoken. Hebrews 13:8 applies to everything in the Bible and God still works today as he did in the days past and doing more now than then.

Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday

and today and forever.

Next is the make believer. The make-believer is a person who believes the Bible is the Word of God but doesn’t believe that all of it is for today. The make-believer will say that some of God’s power is not for today. The make-believer will take what is taught even though it may not be in context or is against the Word. The make-believer will have a form of Godliness but deny the power of God. Some of the make believers will deny only part of the power of God and hang onto the church or denomination’s teachings even when it is against the Word of God.

The make-believer will say they believe in the power of God for salvation. But they will only accept only the part of salvation that they want to believe. Some will believe in the Gifts of the Spirit, but are closed to other areas of moving in the Holy Spirit and the power of God.

The make-believer believes in God, believes in Jesus, believes in the Holy Spirit, and especially in the Bible as the Word of God. BUT they do not believe God and believe Jesus and believe the Holy Spirit and believe the Bible is the written Word of God. If the make-believer really believed God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit they would not deny the power of God in one way or another

Matthew 22:29-32

29 Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. 30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

31 But about the resurrection of the dead-

have you not read what God said to you,

32`I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'?

He is not the God of the dead but of the living."

New International Version

1 Corinthians 2:1-5 NIV

2:1 When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.  2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

3 I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling.

4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power,

5 so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.
